Call for Papers

Submission

You can either submit an abstract or a short paper.

  • Short papers: All papers (3 to max. 4 pages) must be submitted in English. The format template can be downloaded here (latex) or here here (word). Please submit your contribution via the easychair platform. Please use as file name the name of the first author, i.e. surname_first name.pdf.
    The publications will be DOI referenced and published in Current Directions in Biomedical Engineering by DE GRUYTER.

Stefan Schuy Prize of the ÖGBMT 2024

The Stefan Schuy Prize of the ÖGBMT will be awarded again this year. The prize is endowed with € 2,500 and is awarded for excellent scientific work in the field of biomedical engineering,

  • which was published no more than 18 months ago at the time of submission or at least has the status "in press" and
  • whose first author is a full member of the Austrian Society for Biomedical Technology (ÖGBMT).

The deadline for submitting the Stefan Schuy Prize is the 2nd of June 2024 (24h00) .

Student competition of the ÖGBMT 2024 and CSBME Award 2024 - Best PHD Thesis in BME

The ÖGBMT awards prizes for the best Master's and Bachelor's theses to young researches. In addition, the faculty of computer science and biomedical engineering announces the CSBME Award 2024 - Best PHD Thesis in BME for the best dissertation in the field of biomedical engineering. The submissions will be evaluated by a jury. Participants in the competition are required to submit an abstract for the conference (see above).
Please note that in addition to the official abstract/short paper submission (you can chose), the thesis, the submission form and a CV need to be submitted via email to kerstin.lenk@tugraz.at with the subject "OEGBMT Prizes for Young Researchers". The email must not exceed the size limit of 10 MB max. Deadline for submission is the 14th of June 2024. Please submit just one PDF in the following order:

Evaluation Process/Rules
  • The thesis must be finalized and graded between 1st of May 2023 and the submission deadline.
  • The applicant must submit an abstract for the conference AND hand in the documents as described above
  • The applicant will present a poster (Bachelor and Master) during the poster session or give a talk (PhD) at the conference
  • The jury will judge the submission as well as the (poster) presentation
